I enjoyed reading your articles. I am currently enrolled in a stuttering seminar class with Judy Kuster. We have talked about the importance of accepting the stutter before reaching the point where stuttering is not "such a bad thing." All of your articles are incredibly postive. You have provided wonderful examples that show a person who stutters can stutter openly and still be very successful and happy. These are the empowering stories that help future clinicians and people who stutter realize how much stress can be relieved by accepting it and talking openly about it. I do, however, have one question: How long did it take to reach that point? I like how it was compared to a big scar on your forehead. Relating it to those terms, I know it would take a lot of self confidence for me to be comfortable enough to joke about it. However, humor is a big part of it, right? Thanks for sharing your stories, I learned a lot. Katie
