I interact with perhaps a couple of dozen people every day in person, on the phone and in meetings and the subject of stuttering does NOT come up in 95% of those contacts. I am generally comfortable with my speech whether or not the person I'm talking to knows I stutter. I usually find ways to mention my stuttering to people I work with frequently. For instance, I told all my clients that I was going to the NSA convention and pointed out that the event lasts four days because it takes us l-l-longer to make our speeches.
