Hi Paige,

You are absolutely correct. No one is insecurity free. Even look at Ben Afflack and J.Lo. One tiny bit of "imperfection" makes a MAJOR impact on their lives! Even the millions they make don't make them comfortable around "regular people." Famous people are actually caught in a prison reserved people who can't even shop at Krogers!

But people also need to watch out for the "smell of fear" syndrome. It's common in the animal world where the special odor of "fear" is emitted from prey to predators, but it's true with people too. People pick up on your OWN fears of your OWN insecurities. If a person who stutters talks VERY ashamedly (no eye contact, weak handshake, obvious timidity, no smiles, etc.) to other people, those people will PICK UP ON THAT as sure as a lion picks up the sent of an antelope. The stutterer might think "He doesn't like me because I stutter" but the truth of the matter is that the other person "smelled" the fact that the stutterer had a very low esteem of himself and was afraid of what the OTHER guy was thinking. It's amazing how all that works...

Yes, our insecurities are a part of who we are, but we have a choice of how we REACT to them.

Good comment, Paige! I appreciate you stopping by!

Russ
