Actually that was not MY story, but rather it was from a good friend of mine who is a recovering covert stutterer. That horrible scar is quite an effective word picture, isn't it? She has really struggled with the images of stuttering...
What keeps me motivated? It's just the continued success I have speaking to people and educating them about stuttering. I spoke to a Rotary Club last week and I'll speak to a university student SLP class next week. I get to meet all kinds of wonderful people in my speaking engagements and travels. And I simply do not recall a single negative incident when have given all these talks. If ** I ** have fun, my audience has fun. They motivate ME... <smile>
