Hi Mr. Alexander.

Your article and presentation are very informative and inspiring. I was curious though what you do for your preventive maintenance before speaking situations. The other question I have concerns your analogy to recovering from alcoholism: you mentioned you try not to indulge in fantasies about perfect fluency, etc., and the vanity that you have to have your best speech forward. Are there any old secondary behaviors that still want to pop up as well? Or does the cure as you defined it (acceptance, relaxation) take away the desire to revert to your old secondary behaviors? I really thought your speech was smooth and relaxed sounding and it produced relaxation and attentiveness in me as I listened. I also liked your insight about stuttering giving you empathy for people, all of whom have a challenge of one kind or another.
