Hello, Claudia Regina! I found your paper very interesting and it has made me think of the answers I would give to those 5 questions. So if you don't mind: 1. What is the essence of stuttering? My brainstorm says: not having the control over voice=speech, speech is detached from the body and mind, mind is too absorbing of outer factors (environment, situation, person across)...

2.What is the cause of stuttering? Character is fragile, too many antennas out absorbing all existing signals coming from the environment, situation or the person across. Genetics.

3. What determines the severity of stuttering? In short: ticks and tricks. The more severe tricks, the harder battle to speak. The more tricks a stutterer uses to hide stuttering, the harder battle to speak.

4. Can chronic stuttering be prevented? Yes: by building a child's character involving the child in home decisions, valueing the child, building positive self-image, stressing qualities, being constructive and not judging flaws and mistakes...

5.Are all who stutter alike? No, but we have a lot in common: for one the dream to one day wake up and not stutter. Same as shortsighted or farsighted people have the same dream to wake one day and see sharply. We share the same experiences and same conclusions: that's why when you meet a stutterer, you feel as you've been friends forever...
