I very much enjoyed your personal story. I especially enjoyed your comment about how you tried to compensate for your stuttering by overachieving in your acedemics. I, too, have had a similar experience. I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes when I was six years old and feared others would not like me because I was "different." Therefore, I believe I learned to focus highly on academics to gain the possible respect/admiration of others. In short, it was nice to relate to someone who has also had to deal with a major obstacle in their life. Thank you for sharing your story- Carolyn Mager
