Dear Keli, It was so nice to hear from you. I really miss my University teaching and working with bright young minds. Most children and adolescents have not developed all of the emotional overlay and self image problems because they simply have not lived long enough with their stuttering. You can, therefore, work more directly on their overt stutteringby giving them some management (handling) techiques. Strongly encourage them to admit their stuttering freely and not to avoid words and situations. If you can keep their stuttering from becoming more severe, consider yourself a winner. You may find my therapy program helpful for your stutterers. You can get more info on the Successful Stuttering Management Program (SSMP) from the website www.ssmpmanual.com I wish you all the best in your academic and professional career. If I can be of any help, feel free to email me at breitenfeldt@mail.ewu.edu Thank you for responding to my story. It was one of the most challenging writing assignments I have ever been given. All the best, Dorvan breitenfeldt
