Dear Melissa:

Thanks for the kind words.

I'm sorry if I left the impression that the school admissions officer was going to base his enrollment decision on the stuttering alone - as you know he could not do that in view of federal laws. His concern was, in view of Todd's low scores on nationally standardized enrollment exams, that the University might be doing him a disservice by enrolling him if it did not have the resources to help him with an obvious vocationally significant problem.

Our treatment program, "Cooper Personalized Fluency Control Therapy" (available in an adolescent and Adult and in a Children's version from proed.com)was created with the end-goal of treatment being the development of the "feeling of control" rather than setting an arbitrary frequency of stuttering level. The treatment process is designed to address the affective, behavioral, and cognitive (The ABCs) of stuttering syndromes.

You questions are good ones and I hope that you will look into our assessment and treatment programs which address your concerns.

Again, thanks for the kind words.

Gene
