Thank you for a wonderful article. You mention several things to keep in mind as a student in speech pathology. All too often we attempt to 'cure' people of their problems. I have wondered if we really do 'cure' people even of articulation problems. Perhaps if they are young enough, but it seems to be more difficult for adults to change their ways and habits. I am interested in cps because I have read several stories of people who have tried all types of therapy and still continue to stutter. To have a reason why some people cannot be 'cured' is helpful for me as a student/clinician and probably for people with chronic perseverative stuttering. Thanks so much!
