Thank you mister John for your comment. When I look back at those years in school - which are definitely the most dreadful ones for every stutterer - it does seem like I was in a cocoon woven of my stuttering. But if I went back and watched myself at that time, I'd see that I was functioning anyway. So I agree that THAT period of life had a huge influence on me - one can't dispute that. It made the base I was unhappy with and gave the opportunity to see that better things DO come. I agree that people who stutter have great empathy - because they've been overcoming their difficulty and they know all about the process: sadness, denial, defiance, madness, depression, inferioority, labeling... etc.etc. All of those feelings and more we have encountered, mostly at a very early age.
