Thank you, Sandra. One of the most important thing to a child I think is to FEEL EQUAL or to "fit in". And we know this doubles when a child gets into puberty. Although it can be a beautiful swan, it still wants to fly with the ducks because it just wants to be like everybody else. Make sure that the teachers give him choices how to answer exams - he can write the answers on the board, like if it's chemistry his oral exam should not be the origin of chemistry but drawing a molecule or set of dishes used for destilation. They should give him choices how to read - let him choral-read with his desk companion. To give him a grade in foreign language oral exam, let him tape-record himself reading some text from the textbook. He can record himself over and over until he is satisfied and then hand in the tape. If there is a play in school and he doesn't want to act, they should enroll him in making the posters for the play, or making the scenery - he should not feel left out. In geography class the teacher should call him out on the map more often to show where something is - this makes both him happy to show his knowledge and the class feeling that he's not being left out or that the teachers are being "soft" with him. His peers at young age won't know why teachers call on him so often to come to the map, but it will be a boost to his self-pride and you can be sure that he'll always be prepared. I know he'll have a wonderful life and be a wonderful person!
