Hi Marija,

I have read your article with great interest, it is very inspiring. In some parts it reminds me my speech. I am also a stutterer and I have been stuttering for four decades. But my stuttering began when I was 7. Till 7 I was normally fluent. After that my speech began to get worse and at secondary school I had to do all my examinations on paper. The same situation was when I was attending technical university. In the past there was very little information about stuttering in my country (Czech republic). First book in Czech about stuttering for adults was only issued in 1999. This book completely changed my attitude to stuttering. I did not know English then. Thanks to internet I started to learn English and to search as much as possible information about stuttering. After decades of severe stuttering my speech changes very slowly but I feel that it is getting better. I know the president of your association Suzana Jelcic-Jaksic personally, I met her at 6th congress for people who stutter in Belgium in 2001 and we talked a little. She is very nice.

I wish you all the best,

Jiri

P.S. Croatia is very beautiful country. I was there several times and I liked it very much and Croatian people are very friendly.
