I just read your great article and I'm so happy you found your own identity. I can relate to your story from the beginning to the end. I was thin air in school and had no support from home, got lowest grades for my languages, was told not to study languages as "I would not be able to use them anyway". At the age of 18 I wanted to leave this world. But things changed. I got a job, a boyfriend and at the age of 27 (!) I found out I was not the only one who stuttered. Today I'm back in school and loving it, and I'm travelling the world BECAUSE I stutter. I even got a scholarship from the bank today (ISAD) to go to the World Congress!!!

Life is not over because of our stutter. It can be a hard struggle, but we have to find a way to deal with it and make the best out of it. This is our luggage. Others have big feet.

You have managed to come this far which shows your strength and personality and I admire you for that. Now keep on walking that road and use your experience to help others by telling your story. Because if WE don't speak up and claim or rights to be heard, to talk and to be respected, nobody else will.

Thanks for sharing.

Anita
