I only saw the SLP for a few months, and it really was a waste of time. She didn’t know anything about covert stammering. (This was before I had come across the term “covert” myself – but my SLP didn’t seem to be familiar with the phenomenon.) We did some slow speech and easy onsets, but she pretty much told me that I wouldn’t use them when I got back into the community. And she was right. I didn’t!
