Interesting point. Of course the easy answer would be....only research will tell. However, until that time comes a few comments. What we know about "developmental stuttering" (that which exists from early childhood) suggests that stuttering often exists within a "syndrome of symptoms". Stuttering is very often associated with other speech, language, learning, and reading problems. Many of the individuals that are of a different type of stuttering (late onset, motor disorders, etc.) also seem to have some "group of symptoms". It may be allergies, medications, etc., but I think you have something there. I hope that someone follows up with your theory.
