First of all thanks for your question. Your question regarding autism and stuttering is indeed interesting and timely. There has been quite a bit of discussion on this topic on the SID4 Listserv. The debate is archived and begins in late September and goes into early October. Do keep in mind that listservs are not authoritative documents, but there is quite a bit of interesting discussion in that area. I suggest starting there.

I agree with you about the lack of coverage in most of our courses. I don't know how we could fit all possible types of stuttering into one trem (and some programs don't even require a fluency course). I think our job is to prepare you to treat the basics well, and then teach you how to search out answers for other more complicated issues. I am sure that your excellent professor does that.
