Charlet, I share your concern for prognosis. Charlie Healy recently published an article on ADHD and stuttering in the Journal of Fluency Disorders. It may be helpful.

Also, you expressed concern regarding the various people who interact with the child. I have found it helpful to have a meeting with all parties to make sure everyone is on the same page. This will allow you to educate the parents, teachers and the entire family on what is occurring. You will be able to explain the diagnosis and how that will affect the child’s ability to perform certain tasks.

Considering the environment surrounding a child can have a marked impact on the child’s ability to maneuver through daily tasks, anyone interacting with the child should be aware of which situations assist and which detract from the child’s ability to communicate effectively. This will assist in understanding why the child may struggle more in one specific situation than in another. This may reduce the frustration that you mentioned.
