This is a great anology to help students understand the complexity involved in the emotional issues that impact upon people who stutter. The part about blasting the top of the iceberg away only for it to return; made sense to me when, a PWS undergoes an intensive treatment program but then stutters in the "real world". The PWS develops more emotional stress from the feelings of "failure".
