You got it. That's EXACTLY what happened to me many years ago. They treated the 10% tip very well, but they didn't even KNOW about the 90% below the waterline. As a result, when I came back the following year, the tonnage below the waterline had actually GROWN because of my "failure" to keep the tip "under control." Guilt, shame, frustration... It all makes sense now, but back then we had absolutely no idea what was going on.
I hope an understanding of this phenomena will help future SLPs not make the same mistake that happened to me. I'm not blaming them, mind you, it's simply that no one understood even the existence of the iceberg back in those days...
