Howard, Do you think your onset of stuttering was directly related to your attempt to speak German when you were a boy? If so, why did it carry-over when you switched to English? Speaking a second language myself, I ahd difficulty with the transition to school where only English was spoken. I remember "thinking" the word in my primary language and then "translating" into English as I spoke. Many times this interrupted my fluency, but I managed to get through it eventually without incident. I remember vaguely going to speech therapy in school during kindergarten, I suppose for that reason. I would like to commend you on your straightforward life- lesson in narrating while you were in the service. No time for excuses, just get the job done. And you did! Congratulations on your success. Irene
