Thanks for your positive comments. I am glad you liked the paper.

I'd like to comment on use of the word "cure." Personally, I don't like the term "cure" because it implies the medical model, where the patient is "sick" and gets "cured from the "illness." Also-- this paper is talking about successful outcomes for older clients-- possibly teens and adults-- for whom stuttering has become a chronic problem accompanied by secondary characteristics of escape and avoidance, as well as negative attitudes and feelings.

I believe that early intervention and treatment for children can be highly effective in preventing the problem, and that such folks can end up with normally fluent speech.

I hope you see what I mean about "cure" and the differences in precention and early intervention in kids, and more direct treatment in folks whose stuttering has become perpetuated, long term.
