Having worked in the school setting for twenty three years, I have used both fluency shaping and stuttering modification. Both have their strengths and weaknesses. I now find that I use a combination of the two methods. Most importantly I have found that attitudes about stuttering play a huge part in therapy. I agree with you when you said that people who stutter are the most courageous people that you know. Those with that courage seem to be the most successful in their management of stuttering.
