Thank you for your answer, and I did just what you suggested: posed the question to the Professors.

Sometimes I feel like I'm making too big of a deal about stuttering because everybody has SOMETHING and nobody is perfect,

but on the other hand if we are so brave - as has been said here on this Conference - to live with this and not get discouraged, win or lose battles every day, carry on or get depressed, then it IS something to ponder about.

When I talk to my fellow stutterers, we've found numerous times that we could talk about stuttering forever. Sometimes during the conversation a thought crosses my mind: "Wait - are we overdoing it? Is this normal? Is this plain... arrogance?"

This was more of a monolog, you don't have to say anything. :o) Just a flow of conscience.
