John & Sharon, I really enjoyed reading your story. John- I learned a lot from your personal comments. I have learned through classes that stuttering often increases under stressful situations. However, you said that some stress (like pressure at work) helps build your self confidence/esteem, I guess I didn't think about situations like that. Is it because you have control over that situation at work, opposed to the stress from Mattie? In other words, Is the "stuttery" feeling a result of the feeling of no control- therefore your fluency breaks down? Thank you for sharing your story, it always helps to hear real stories to reinforce the textbook material. Katie
