I am a graduate student currently enrolled in a stuttering seminar course. Prior to reading your paper, I was aware that self-help groups existed for people who stutter, but I was not certain of the impact that they can have on the individual. Through your paper, I have gained a better understanding of the importance of such groups. I have begun to realize the role that such groups can have in fostering the expression of one's feelings and attitudes toward their stuttering. I would like to thank you for sharing your story and increasing my awareness of the importance of self-help groups. I will definitely take this knowledge with me as I enter into my future career in the field of speech-language pathology.

Thanks, Samantha Schindle
