M. Kawasaki - I was not aware of self-help groups for stutterers when my stuttering was at its most severe. However, I began attending '12-step' meetings in my twenties for other issues. In those rooms, I found other people who had some of the same experiences as I had, and I learned I could talk freely about any topic including my stuttering. Thanks to these groups, I experienced some of the same thigs you described in your paper, not the least of which was that feeling of burden being lifted from my shoulders.

Thank you, Matthew Lehr Toledo, OH, USA
