Hej Anders, Thanks for sharing your openhearted life experiences, and your discussions with Van. Moreover I want to thank you deeply, Anders, for your concern telling me what hostile actions that was planned to happen (in Nyborg 2000) among SLP:s . Reading your paper and listening to your conversation makes me begin to understand the mechanisms behind hostile reactions over the years. And it makes me sad.. Anders, listening to the advices from Van, compairing it with the comments from Stromsta (I met Stromsta summer 1990, and his personal encouragements is the reason why I have devoted the last 13 years of development in the most militarized zone of Swedish Speech Pathology, speech training for PWS. He made me take the firm decision to stop being frightened, and devote my time to intellectual work in Stuttering. "Read and learn! Devote your life to research! Do it the hard way..there are NO SHORTCUTS" were the ruff and honest words from Courtney.) Listening to you and the comment's from Van, makes me realize the crucial point. Anders, all this anger wasn't meant to be. Those 30 years of gunpowder, because of what? In sadness shaking my head. Why couldn't we just enjoy the good life, as Van and Courtney did, sunday afternoon enjoying a cup of tea together, homemade cinnamon rolls (mine are quite good, so as they say)with discussions and disagreements in some points, but with mutual respect to each person. Van would never had accepted a bad situation for Courtney, being threatened and not accepted by collegues, frozen out for years, and withdrawn all his possibilities to earn a decent income within his profession, a life in misery. Well, Örebro is quite far from Göteborg, but my suggestion is: Couldn't we at least write a good paper together, in Logopednytt (the Speech therapy news) with mutual recognition and respect as professionals as well as in private life? A paper where empathy is the essential role? A paper that makes this strange 30-year-old-war be brought to an end? Let's get rid of this stigma, once and for all. Anders, let's write this paper together!

Design -for -all! The Socio-economic recognition and redristribution for all with an SLP degree, no matter what point-of view they have in treatment, as long as it is somewhat scientifically proven. Disregarding where they actually work, in the hospital or as private practise clinicians!

Looking forward hearing from you!

Best regards, Helena
