Once you have established a rapport wait until you see it and you simply say: "I have noticed that you sometimes look away during a stutter." 99% of the time they will say "yes I do." Then follow the script on my article.

"How do you know when to do look away?

I refrain from showing video of it to clients. 1) I do not need to. COnversationally, I take care of it. 2) Watching it on video CAN make some people freak out. "Oh man. I look weird, etc." We don't know. You heard "excorcist."

If we can handl it artfully during conversation, why do the video? That is lost time in therapy.
