If I understand right, you averted eye contact as you faked stuttering. Was that a conscious decision, or an unconscious reaction to a thought or feeling you had about stuttering and the listeners reaction?

Do I also understand that the listeners of your pseudo stuttering looked away when you did? This is precisely what I am talking about. You sent a message of "I am not comfortable stuttering." They did not know how to react and followed YOUR LEAD....."if she is looking away, I will too."

Great insight. Make sure you are comfortable looking at stuttering and modeling it for clients.

GOOD LUCK
