I thought your article was very informative and interesting. I know there are many times in life when something funny (and embarassing) occurs and so often it is easier to laugh about it than stress over it. As a new student clinician I have not really thought of the power of humor for therapy, especially for stuttering clients. You did say in your article that if the client is sensitive to the subject or it causes them pain that humor in therapy should not be started right away however, my question to you is are there times when humor should not be a part of therapy at all? Also, when a stutterer does have painful emotions of stuttering how long should you wait until you begin to use humor as part of therapy?
