To quote your article, "some children who receive treatment would have recovered without it, this seems a small price to pay for ensuring that treatment effectiveness is maximised for the remaining children who are not destined to recover naturally." I agree whole-heartedly with this statement. A little extra speech therapy in the early years can't do too much harm. I was wondering if there were any specific circumstances under which you would recommend delaying treatment and waiting to see if there is natural recovery. It seems that the range for natural recovery is quite large (2months-2years). If a child comes in to see the SLP at 3 and the decision is made to wait and see, the child could be in kindergarten before treatment begins.
