I have a 5 years and 9 months old son that started stuttering when he was 2 years old. I live in Bolivia -South America. During the first year after the onset of my son's stutterig I looked for help but found that the SLP I contacted in my city didnt know anything about stuttering and during that time my son's stuttering got worse. Through the internet I investigated on my own, contacted a therapist and travelled to the USA for 3 months. During this time my son got intensive treatment and I was trained in order to continue treatment back home. He improved a lot the first months, but after he started preschool last year his stuttering got worse again. At the NSA convention this year a SLP fron NY talked to me about the Lidcombe Program and offerd to help me at the distance. I ordered the book and started with the program 14 weeks ago. I am not an SLP but since I cant find help here it was my best chance. My son has made progress and the best thing is he enjoys the treatment. My question is about the treatment outcome if a child has been stuttering for 3 years and a half before starting with the treatment assuming it would be conducted by parents that could assist to the weekly visits to a clinic. Thanks a lot for your time Sandra
