To treat or not to treat?

I found this article very interesting. I am currently enrolled in a masters level stuttering class and we have discussed the different aspects of natural stuttering and stuttering that should be treated. However, as with this article no real answer was found. After thinking about what I learned in class and what I read here I agree with your statement that giving treatment before the period where it will be most benefical is over to all children is beneficial. Based on that why isn't therapy administerd to all children who stutter as it will not harm them.
