As far as I know, there is no evidence to address your question. It is the case, of course, that many children realise that they have communication problem soon after the onset of stuttering. Regardless of whether or not they are aware of it, children should no longer be stuttering after effective treatment so I do not see how this could lead to stuttering in the future.
