I know from many discussions with you that you spent a lot of time listening to Dean Williams. (Your impression of him is dead-on!) ;-)>
His ideas were a bit challenging at times. I was fortunate to spend a year as a supervisor while in my doc program at Iowa. To listen to Dean explain things, give examples, etc., over and over, helped to clarify things. Once you figure it out, it makes eminent sense.
