Very nice comments, Katie. You (and we) are lucky that you had mentors that inspired you. But beyond that, we are lucky that you have been able to continue working with people who stutter and have not lost the passion instilled in you by your mentors.
I like to think that at least a few of my students get fired up about stuttering, but when I see them a few years after they graduate they have lost the fire. They explain that they don't see many (or any) clients who stutter, so they have directed their energies elsewhere.
