Hi Janet - Impressive group - sounds like you've done a lot of great work. Your question is a good one -- how do independent groups get the money or organization together to do some of the larger types of projects? Well, it's probably hard. That's one of the benefits, as I see it, to participating in a national organization like the NSA. The NSA has a national research committee, as described in the paper, that helps facilitate interactions between reearchers and people who stutter... And the NSA national office does many other things as well. This isn't intended to be an advertisement -- the same is true for the BSA and the other groups represented in this panel. SO, the key, I guess, is in networking... You may find that some of your goals are consistent with those of other groups, and for those goals you may choose to partner with other groups... just a thought. s
