What seemed interesting to me was one of the topics of discussion during the Research Symposium in June 2002. I was not suprised to see discussion on; early intervention and identification of risk factors for developing stuttering, treatment outcomes research, relationships between brain functioning and speech behavior, or attitudes toward people who stutter. What suprised me was that there was discussion on interactions between linguistic and motor factors in the development of stuttering. What does this mean exactly, and what sort of interactions does this include?
