No question, just a comment: After several years of searching, I moved to a different city and found a wonderful support group - it has been life-saving. There are some in the group with more severe stuttering than I, which keeps me out of the "self-pity" mode. It has also been very valuable to hear others' ideas on how they cope, and what works and doesn't work for them. The group is diverse in personalities, jobs, and stuttering severity, and is a very rich experience. It is also a very "safe place" for all of us. We meet weekly and have an hour of group session, than an hour of individual therapy with a graduate student in speech therapy. This has been one of the best things that has happened to me in recent years. When I have to move again, one of my first priorities will be to find another support group. (This online event is great - thanks for participating!)
