AN EXCELLENT POINT! I feel strongly that the best people to teach us about stuttering are people who stutter! You will find, though, that this opinion is not universally held, though... some clinicians apparently feel that THEY are the best ones to determine what people who stutter want from therapy... Needless to say, I think this is inappropriate... We need to LISTEN to people who stutter and determine what THEY want from their therapy.. And, that means that different people will want different things...
Sounds like I'm on a soapbox, and I guess I am... I'm preaching to the choir I know, but this is such an important issue, particularly these days...
