I am in graduate school and taking a fluency class right now. We are required to go into the community and stutter, also. However, we do not confront the listener after we have done it. The groups going out into public like a stakeout and setting up the intended listener is wonderful because you can see the true reactions of the listener. I know that when I am doing our experiement; I look down avoiding eye contact so I don't get the full reaction from the listener. Also, I like the idea of letting the person know what you are doing and teaching them more about stuttering. I feel like so many people in the world do not know anything about stuttering except for what they learn in the movies and television. I enjoyed your article, and think what you are doing for the community is great (making them more aware of stuttering).
