Thanks so much for your comments an interest. You are totally right when you say that parents involvement can make a difference. I really think stuttering therapy is a family matter. Its great that you are working in involving parents in a support group. Parents have to be educated in stuttering in order to understand what your child is going through and what your child needs from you in order to accept his speech and make progress. Something that I think helps understand more what our children feel when they stutter is pseudostuttering with the help of an SLP. Other thing that has helped me keep my sons great attitude towards talking is speaking openly with him about stuttering and letting him know that I understand how frustrating it must be for him sometimes not to be able to talk fluently and how much I admire him for saying what he wants to say inspite the effort.
