Ellen-Marie, You wrote: "As for adults, I'm not convinced a team would provide what you are looking for. But I, of course, am just one person."

1. Given, that what passes for stuttering therapy for adults today is stuck in a morass, where true efficacy rates are horrible.

2. Given, that people who stutter have given up on stuttering therapy to the point where they are desperately shelling out thousands of dollars for distractor devices (which will go the way of all distractor devices);

3. Given, that the lack of training of SLPs in stuttering is in a state of crisis — including the fact that no practicum time in stuttering is needed to get the CCC professional accreditation.)

Would a coordinated multidisciplinary team approach hurt?

I invite you to read my futuristic essay on this concept, In The Year 2025, on the Stuttering Home Page at: http://www.mankato.msus.edu/dept/comdis/kuster/TherapyWWW/In2025.html
