Re: adult onset. Yes, we did leave these out. My undestanding (and I'm NOT the SLP here) is that adult onset stuttering is of a different sort. Also called either neurogenic or psychogenic stuttering, the adult onset stutter certainly does not have the years of accumulated fears and conditioned responses built up. I would not expect disociation to be the issue with this population that it can be with the stutterer whose stuttering developed over time. Woody or other SPLs can (and I hope will) say more.
