I dont think I can give you specific metaphors about taking chances. Each person comes up with a metaphor that fits them and their situation, construing, fears etc. If you ask the teenager im sure he will come up with something that is right for him. Regarding drawings there is an article on the use of drawings with a client who stammers in Journal of Fluency Disorders by me and Hilary Brosh. I think it was in 1998. You may like to read that and see the drawings.
