Thank you for your article. I hope to actually use it in therapy with a few teenagers I am seeing. I have an observation and a question. Observation: Teenagers are in a state of flux in terms of self-esteem, and often have a significantly difficult time formulating positive statements about themselves. I know they are making progress as I see that measure of self-esteem improve. Question: (I guess it's somewhat of an observation as well) I teach a graduate level course on Fluency Disorders. When I start talking about helping clients improve their 'self-esteem' and counseling issues, my students go into a panic, feeling highly unprepared and thus unqualified in this area (and worried that they will find themselves out of their area of expertise). What would you recommend I include in my course to help them prepare in this area?
