I agree that "the highest levels of self-esteem. . . is when you are being stretched and you have the skills to meet the challanges." I am a graduate student in speech pathology. I notice that even with myself, I am not fulfilled unless I am "stretched." I am also working with a client at the present time that I may share your paper. He needs to "go beyond his comfort zone" but is very reluctant to do so. Thank you for a new insight.
