“Nepal Stutters' Association conducted one day people awareness workshop in occasion of International Child Stutter Year 2004 on the theme "International Year 2004 for Children Who Stutter" on 1st April 2004, at Western Regional Hospital, Pokhara. The Program was held with an important Chief Guest Mrs. Hanne Tranberg, representative of DSI-Denmark. Other guests were Mr. Bent Lassen (representative of DSI-Denmark), Mrs. Anne Lise Steen (President of DLFL-Denmark), Mr. Steen from Denmark, Mr. K. R. Khanal (Speech Pathologist & Audiologist), Mrs. Rosie Sleater (Speech Pathologist & Audiologist), Mrs Renu Lohani (Coordinator of DSI-Nepal). 75 people were participated in that program, among which 65 people were fully unknown about the characteristics of stuttering and Speech Therapy. The program was held on chairmanship of President Mr. Indra Lal Shrestha. Two Papers were presented on the program. One Paper was presented by Mr. Kabiraj Khanal (Speech Pathologist & Audiologist) about self Speech Therapy for Stutterers of different ages and Other Paper was presented by Mrs. Amala Amatya member of NSA about Introduction of Nepal Stutters' Association.” (from THE ELSA ELECTRONIC NEWSNOTES, December 2004)
