Dear Alison...We enjoyed hearing from you and appreciated your response. Although it might feel difficult and awkward for you, because you are used to the informing mode, it is possible for you to transition with your present clients. It is just a turn taking procedure. You have provided the information, now you want to hear all about how that information has effected your clients. What does this information mean? How has it changed their thoughts, feelings and behaviors? What are their fears, hesitations or general feelings? It is becoming client centered. This works the same in groups. It is the difference between a teacher and a clinician/counselor. Good luck. I am glad that this was helpful.
